It's Crochet Catch-Up Time!!!

I know, it's been ages. I'm such a slacker. I made a commitment to blog more often and what happens? We get stuck remodeling for the entire summer. UGH! I have been doing a bit of crocheting though so without further blab:

Baby top for local mortuary

Baby blanket for daughter's stash

My shrug

Chemo hat

Toddler vest

It has been my sanity. I'm not very good about my house being torn up -- all of it at once. It's like we can't do one room and get it done we have to do a little in each room -- which means there's nowhere to sit without being moved out so he can do more tile work. I do finally have a kitchen but we have to eat standing up to the counters--or propped up in bed. I wish I truly had somewhere to visit but the kids are all too busy and my sister just had her mastectomy. I'd love to be there to help her or just sit with her but there's nowhere for me to even stay. I tried. My son, Jeff, offered me a place but I didn't want to put him out for an entire two weeks. That wouldn't be fair. No one wants their mother or mother-in-law around for THAT long. Two or three days at each place would have been more than enough. It's not worth the airfare, car rental, etc. if you can only see one of your three kids that live within a couple of hours of each other.

Anyway, I have also been busy doing genealogy. I can shut myself away where it is quiet and work on it until The Hubster has to put Sparky in with me. He doesn't do well with any type of power tool. He tries to eat it and tries to push The Hubster away from it. When put in with me there is an over-abundance of barking and growling going on. Not very conducive to puzzling out where an ancestor might have lived or died. ;-)

I'll be back. Really, I will. Let's hope this remodel doesn't really take the whole summer. That could be a nightmare for sure. I think I'll be divorced by then and living in a little tiny apartment of my own. LOL!

  1. Love seeing all your crochet. The baby top is lovely but isn't it sad when we crochet for that reason. I belong to an Australian charity knit/crochet group and occasionally make things for premature babies who don't make it. Very sad. The chemo hat looks fabulous - the flower makes it really pretty. However, the toddler vest is my favourite - what little girl wouldn't love that?
